These bread sticks are really simple and yummy.
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 tbsp yeast
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp salt
4 c. flour
Dissolve the water, yeast and honey in a bowl. Add salt and gradually add the flour. May need more or less depending on how you like your bread, but a general rule is that the dough shouldn't stick to your hands as you are working with it.
Roll out onto greased or floured surface. Cut or roll into strips. Variations: stretch, twist, roll, knot, etc. Set on greased baking sheet. Spread melted butter on top of each stick. Sprinkle seasonings, or leave plain. Bake 400 for 12-15 min.
Some seasoning ideas:
Garlic salt and parmesan cheese
Minced garlice and cheese
cinnamon and sugar (can drizzle on a nice buttercream frosting)
fresh, chopped herbs and salt
