1 c. boiling water
1/2 c molasses
2 c milk
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 c oil
1 c. raisins/dates
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp bkg soda
2 1/2 c flour (1/2 wheat and 1/2 white flour)
Stir the bran and boiling water. Let sit until cool. Add molasses, milk, lmn. juice, oil, and the raisins/dates. Stir together, then add the brown sugar, salt, bkg soda, and flour. Mix well. Store in an air tight container over night. Bake at 400 for 20-25 min. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.
